Arizona’s immigration law (SB 1070) went into effect on Thursday, July 29. Faith Communities across the country came together in solidarity to pray for the members of our immigrant communities.

We gather to pray for the renewal of a broken system. We pray with a desire to strengthen the spirit of mutual understanding and respect and to ease the tensions fueled by anger, fear and hatred.  We pray for the Spirit's power to open a way for both opportunity and security, for both the needs of new immigrants and the hopes of citizens.
