Thanks to the many people who have generously donated to the Stedman Step-Up Fund, which has been established to honor our friend and colleague John Stedman.
Since December 5, we have received $3,345 in new donations to the fund. That leaves us just $655 short of being able to collect the entire $4,000 matching fund that has been offered. It would be great if we could reach that finish line before the end of the year.
These donations, along with the money people sent in immediately after John's unexpected death, would create a fund large enough that we could guarantee being able to send at least one person in recovery to Gamaliel training each year forever! Our dream is to build a community of Stedman Scholarship recipients: among their jobs will be to recruit the next recipient. It will be a great way to cement John's legacy of hope and restoration for many years to come.
If you have not yet seen the video by Sharon Stedman (John's wife) and Sarah Ferber (the 2016 Stedman Scholar), you can see it here.
If you didn't get a chance to donate before, or if you are in a position to make one more tax-deductible donation before the end of the year, please help us with this last step toward the goal.
You can do so on line on either of our websites, or mail a check directly to the WISDOM office. The contacts are below.
Thanks very much.
