RELIGIOUS LEADERS CAUCUS
The Religious Leaders’ Caucus (RLC) provides spiritual guidance for SOPHIA through faithful witness to the
Spirit of Love. Each meeting begins with a shared, values-based devotion, and throughout our time together
we return to reflection on our values and how they shape our work. In this way, the RLC nurtures, supports, and strengthens SOPHIA members—helping them bring spiritual grounding to congregational organizing and Task Force initiatives—all with the shared goal of building a more socially just community.

Over the last several years, members of the RLC have actively supported SOPHIA’s Task Force initiatives by:
-
Writing letters to support updating and/or closing prisons
-
Advocating for driver’s licenses for immigrants
-
Providing mini-series on social justice education for voters and on water justice
-
Hosting book discussions
-
Leading a community prayer vigil ministry
-
Offering a video and guided discussion on voter engagement via Zoom

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom and are open to all. Contact us for more details.

RLC Annual Education
Each November, SOPHIA offers an annual educational program organized by the RLC. These gatherings are open to everyone and include both learning and discussion, creating a meaningful experience that inspires reflection and opens new possibilities for action.
This year’s RLC educational program will focus on Immigration and will be held Tuesday, November 12, at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom. We are honored to welcome Attorney Stephanie Mitchell as our featured speaker.
